CP3 Maths Website and Apps Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible for your information

C Parkinson trading as CP3 Maths is the controller responsible for personal data processed in connection with cp3maths.com and its public apps.

Privacy questions and rights requests may be sent to support@cp3maths.com.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to the public cp3maths.com website and its public apps, including TILES, COUNTERS and Is It Prime?. It covers browser and installed progressive web app use. It does not describe third-party websites, TES processing or a school’s own processing of information when using classroom technology.

3. Information the apps do not request

The current public apps do not require an account and do not ask you to provide a name, email address, pupil identifier or payment details. They do not use advertising, behavioural profiling or optional analytics tools.

The apps do not offer messaging, public profiles or cloud sharing. CP3 Maths board apps do not send board arrangements to a CP3 Maths account. Is It Prime? does not send scores or attempt history to CP3 Maths. The only current file-selection feature is the optional TILES feedback screenshot described below. Selecting a file does not send it until you submit the feedback form.

4. Information stored on your device

Board applications

CP3 Maths board applications, including TILES and COUNTERS, use local browser storage to remember application acceptance where required, board preferences, a non-empty board arrangement, the board view and the snap setting so that you can choose whether to continue your previous board when you return. TILES may also remember the selected x or x,y tile set. If you dismiss an installation suggestion, the relevant app may remember that choice for 30 days. Where a wider learning interface is used, it may remember onboarding, update notices and learning progress. These records stay in your browser and are not sent to CP3 Maths by the applications.

A remembered board expires 30 days after it was last updated. Choosing to start with a clean board, clearing the board or clearing the site data in your browser removes that saved arrangement. The Board does not save the undo history as part of this 30-day record.

If the Board must leave its workspace to open a legal page, it may also hold a temporary restoration record in session storage. That record is removed after restoration and is treated as expired after 30 minutes. Normally the legal page now opens without closing the live board.

Is It Prime?

Is It Prime? uses local browser storage to remember sound and vibration preferences and up to 50 completed attempts. An attempt record contains the date, game mode, challenge level where applicable, number range, time setting, correct and incorrect answers, number answered and best streak. Personal bests and summary statistics are calculated from those completed attempts on the device. If you leave a game through its confirmation message, that unfinished attempt is discarded rather than added to the history. These records stay on the device and are not sent to CP3 Maths.

Cached app files

Your browser may cache application files so that the apps load faster and can work as progressive web apps. Clearing site data, using private browsing, changing browser or changing device may remove acceptance records, preferences, scores, attempt history, remembered board state and cached files.

5. Technical information processed when the website loads

When your browser connects, the hosting and security infrastructure may process ordinary technical request information. This may include an IP address, request date and time, requested page, browser or device information, response status, diagnostic information and security signals.

This information is used to deliver the website, protect it against misuse, diagnose faults and maintain a reliable service. CP3 Maths relies on its legitimate interests in operating and securing its website and applications, except where another legal basis is required.

Technical records are retained in accordance with the relevant infrastructure provider’s operational and security retention arrangements and only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes. CP3 Maths does not use these records to advertise to, profile or assess individual learners.

6. Optional feedback

You can choose to send feedback to CP3 Maths without an account or contact details. The form asks for a category and message but does not ask for your name or email address. Hosting and email-delivery infrastructure may still process ordinary request information. Anything you write or include in a screenshot may identify someone, so please do not include sensitive information or information about another person.

Two optional controls let you include a screenshot and limited technical diagnostics. Both are off by default. TILES does not create a screenshot of the app. If you choose to include one, you take and crop the screenshot on your device, then select that image from Photos or Files. TILES prepares the selected image locally for delivery and shows a larger preview so you can check it. The image is not uploaded until you send the feedback form. You should crop the image so it contains only the visible TILES app and check that it contains no personal, confidential or safeguarding-sensitive information. Diagnostics are limited to the TILES version and build, browser and operating-system family, viewport, display mode, current app and variable modes, tile count and up to five recent TILES application error messages. They do not include browsing history, unrelated activity, a persistent device identifier or local browser storage.

Feedback is delivered using Resend to the CP3 Maths support inbox, which is hosted using Apple’s iCloud Mail service. The selected screenshot is displayed inside the email and may also be carried as an inline email attachment. Feedback is used to investigate problems, respond where possible and improve the service. Feedback and optional attachments are kept only as long as needed for those purposes and for no longer than 12 months.

7. Essential storage, cookies and analytics

The apps use the first-party functional browser storage described above to provide features you choose to use, such as remembering a board, retaining app preferences and keeping completed game history on your device. This storage is not used to identify you across websites, build an advertising profile or report app activity to CP3 Maths. Hosting and security providers may also use cookies or similar technologies that are strictly necessary to deliver, secure or protect the website.

Cloudflare currently sets the strictly necessary __cf_bm cookie on cp3maths.com to identify and mitigate automated traffic. Cloudflare states that it expires after 30 minutes of continuous inactivity, is generated separately for each protected site and does not track users from site to site or from session to session. The current release does not use optional analytics, advertising cookies or cross-site behavioural tracking. If optional analytics or other non-essential technologies are introduced later, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before they are used.

8. Service providers and sharing

Personal data is not sold. The website is currently delivered using OpenAI’s Sites infrastructure, with Cloudflare providing supporting hosting, connectivity and security services. Resend delivers feedback email and Apple’s iCloud Mail service hosts the CP3 Maths support inbox. These providers may process limited information to provide and protect their services.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law, to establish or defend legal rights or to investigate a genuine security incident. CP3 Maths does not share app scores, board arrangements or learning progress with schools, advertisers or data brokers.

9. International processing

OpenAI, Cloudflare, Resend, Apple or their approved service providers may process technical information or submitted feedback in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, United States or other locations in which they operate. Where UK data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, processing must rely on applicable UK adequacy regulations, an approved international data transfer agreement or addendum or another lawful transfer safeguard. 10. Children and the Children’s Code

CP3 Maths board applications are intended for educational use and are likely to be accessed by children. CP3 Maths takes the ICO’s Children’s Code (the Age Appropriate Design Code) into account and aims to place children’s best interests first.

These board applications support this approach by collecting as little information as possible, using high privacy by default, providing no advertising or profiling, requiring no child account and providing privacy information in plain language.

Users under 18 should have permission from a parent, guardian, teacher or other responsible adult. Adults and organisations supervising use should avoid displaying unnecessary personal, confidential or safeguarding-sensitive information.

11. Sources, choices, lawful bases and automated decisions

Technical request information is generated when your browser or device connects to the service. Feedback content, a selected screenshot and optional diagnostics come directly from you when you submit the form.

The technical information needed to load and secure the service is necessary for the website to operate, but you are not under a statutory or contractual obligation to send feedback. Feedback, screenshots and diagnostics are entirely optional.

Where CP3 Maths processes technical personal data to operate and protect the website or personal data contained in optional feedback to investigate problems and improve the service, the lawful basis is legitimate interests. Those interests are providing a reliable and secure educational service, understanding reported problems and making proportionate improvements. Information may also be processed when necessary to comply with a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

The current public apps do not make automated decisions about users, profile learners or use personal data to determine access to educational opportunities. Scores, streaks and app feedback are calculated on the device as part of the requested game or learning activity. They are not used by CP3 Maths to assess a learner.

12. Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights to ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability of your personal data. Because the Board does not identify users through an account, CP3 Maths may not be able to connect a technical hosting record or local browser record to a particular person.

Your right to object

Where processing relies on legitimate interests, you have the right to object to that processing. Email support@cp3maths.com and explain the processing you object to. CP3 Maths will consider the objection in accordance with applicable data protection law.

You can remove locally stored EULA acceptance, preferences, scores, attempt history, progress, remembered board state and cached files by clearing the site data for cp3maths.com in your browser. In Is It Prime?, “Reset history and stats” removes completed attempt history and the statistics calculated from it while leaving sound and vibration preferences unchanged. Choosing “Start with a clean board” also removes the remembered board arrangement.

You may raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Information about doing so is available at ico.org.uk. You are encouraged to contact CP3 Maths first so the concern can be considered.

13. Security

CP3 Maths and its infrastructure providers use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information processed through the public service. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

14. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when CP3 Maths applications, its hosting, paid features or applicable requirements change. The version and effective date at the top of this page identify the current policy. A significant change will be brought to users’ attention where reasonably practicable.
